We’re delighted to share that Infinity Design took out multiple awards at the 2014 Australian Good Design Awards held in Sydney on the 28th of May. Infinity Design won a Good Design Award in the Consumer Electronics category for the Emergence Speaker, a Good Design Selection accolade for the Multi-fresh Fruit Bowl and the overall Powerhouse Museum Award, again for the Fruit Bowl.
Infinity was chosen from a strong field of over 150 Australian and international entries which qualified for Good Design® Selection. The benchmark for selection was set very high this year with entries having to satisfy the criteria for good design including: Form, Function, Safety, Sustainability, Quality, Commerciality and Innovation.
The Emergence speaker system is the next generation in audio technology. Collaborating with Queensland company, Acoustic3D, Infinity created an iconic design that would show off the new technology. The Emergence is the world’s first range of audio speakers that produce three-dimensional sound by generating acoustic holograms.
The Multi-Fresh fruit bowl was selected for the Powerhouse museum award out of all the entries and all the categories in the awards. The Powerhouse Museum Design Award recognises the important role of design in harnessing the challenges of science and technology to make a positive impact on our lives.
The Australian Good Design Awards judges provide a global benchmark of design excellence. Local judges are joined by international design experts, all from highly reputable organisations across all disciplines of product design and development.
