During November, Infinity Design was thrilled to support the graduating Industrial Design class of 2015 as the Platinum Sponsor for the ExpoXV end of year exhibition. ExpoXV is an opportunity for graduating QUT industrial design students to display their final year project work to industry professionals and exhibit their innovative ideas to the wider community. This annual event provides a platform for students to connect with industry leaders within the design and manufacturing community, aiming to enhance and nurture those professional relationships.
The exhibition is always an anticipated event on the design industry calendar, generating a huge buzz. The event attracts hundreds of local creative and manufacturing professionals, as well as wider community support. For the students, it’s a fantastic opportunity to generate conversation, network with others and begin their career path into the design industry.
Infinity Design has been supporting this event for many years, offering ‘The Infinity Prize’ for the most outstanding student of the year for the past 17 years. This year, we are happy to announce that the award went to Benjamin Donnelly for his project ‘Aura’. Ben’s project combines a drone, 3D scanning and VR technology to create an immersive virtual reality memory experience, taking the concept of holiday snaps and launching it into a new realm.
We loved the concept and execution of Ben’s project and applaud him on his achievements. As part of the prize, Ben will be joining our team for a 2 week internship early in the New Year to help launch him into his new career as a designer. Let’s hope his coffee making skills are as good as his design skills!
